A little about ME! Hi, I'm Selena and the last name is Jetnarayan, sounds like "jet-na-ryan," it's easy really. I have 3 cutie kids and I'm married to a very handsome South African man (with a sexy accent!) I went to school to be a computer programmer (Blah!). When I graduated I thought, well I'm never ever going to do that! So I worked as a secretary and then did the kid thing. I started buying nice cameras to take pictures of my kids and then the passion for photography started growing inside of me. I started taking classes, doing online tutorials, buying books (and reading them too!) and going to any workshop I could. I feel like my computer-nerd background helps me be a better photographer, and I'm always humbled to know how much more I have to learn about this amazing art of photography. As for the business side, I have liability insurance and I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II and some sweet lenses.
WEDDINGS For weddings I shoot with my friend and assistant Hope Bigler , and I tell people that "she completes me" and she really does! I never ever want to shoot a wedding without her. She's an awesome photographer, always trying to better herself and learn new things. She helps me think clearly under pressure and is the best sidekick a girl could ask for (and when I said sidekick I hope you pictured us dressed up like cowboys.. riding the open plains.. holding cameras not guns in our holsters).
FAMILY Portraiture I love families. My family is my foundation and I think families rock. It makes me sad when I find awesome families who have NO pictures together! I think families portraits are one of the best investments that you can give yourself, loosing several friends this past year makes me realize this even more. Every moment is worth documenting, so take your camera and shoot away! Back up your pictures too, they are something you never want to loose. And then sometimes... you need to hire me so that YOU can be in the picture too!
